About the Role:  

We're looking for a professional eager to apply their financial and data analysis skills in an exciting and challenging area. Working in the ATCO Electric Revenue and Rates team, this position is responsible for conducting ongoing forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of actual revenue collection in relation to monthly / yearly forecast projections.  Included will also be responsibility for providing and maintaining a centralized, consistent source of historical customer information and billing data in support of key reporting controls. 

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct sales forecasting and ongoing monitoring of actual rate revenue under approved tariffs using Excel and SAS software applications.
  • Support Phase II Regulatory Proceedings by assisting in cost of service studies and rate design processes, responding to information requests and undertakings as well as researching findings related to intervener evidence and argument.
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments in the fields of tariff design, economics and forecasting, and utility rate regulation through researching literature, maintaining contacts with other utilities, and attending conferences and courses as appropriate.
  • Assist in performing revenue variance analysis to identify causes of variances against forecast.
  • Prepare regular status and revenue variance reports for presentation to senior management and inclusion in ATCO's Business Plan Forecast.
  • Tabulate and verify historical customer information on a monthly basis in support of regulatory and rider applications, and business plan revenue forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain a system that further streamlines the ability of the Regulatory department to access historical customer information.
  • Respond to requests from internal ATCO groups to provide data in support of initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for all processes and products in support of regulatory and internal audit purposes.
  • Assist in development and preparation of Deferral Account Rider Applications.
  • Complete work towards verification of Rate change requests, and Franchise tax updates.

What You'll Bring: 

  • Post-secondary education in business, economics, engineering, or statistics.
  • More than 5 years of progressive utility-related experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and statistical data programs (SAS).
  • Knowledge of regulatory principles, billing procedures, and rate structures will be considered an asset.
  • A good overall understanding of the utility business.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
