Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Financial Analyst with strong multi-tasking, interpersonal and organizational skills.  As a key member of the Financial Services team and business partner with North America Export, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting related to Stantec's branch offices.  You will work closely with in-country accounting contacts and North America Export operations and finance leadership. This is a permanent position based in the Edmonton, AB office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews of weekly and monthly bank statements to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Prepare and upload monthly journal entries for branch office financials, maintaining detailed and accurate records. 
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial statements and identify discrepancies.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of various in-country tax filings, adhering to local regulatory requirements. Collaborate with in-country tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
  • Review and prepare Oracle entries related to in-country cash receipts to ensure data integrity and timely processing. Liaise with the North America Cash Application team to ensure timely and appropriate coding of repatriated accounts receivable receipts.
  • Prepare month end accounts receivable reserve and applied interest journal entries.
  • Assist in the 5-day period end close process by promptly identifying and correcting issues.
