Full-Time, Permanent Position, 37.5 hours per week
The Arnprior and District Family Health Team[EV1] (ADFHT) provides primary health care to a rostered population of patients. The ADFHT is seeking to fill the vacant position of a full-time permanent Medical Receptionist position to be part of our interdisciplinary team of health care professionals.
The Receptionist position for the Arnprior & District Family Health Team requires excellent administrative support skills, an ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and strong interpersonal skills to work with patients and health care providers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supports the overall operation of the Family Health Team with bookings and programs;
- Answers multi-line telephone system;
- Greets and registers patients in a professional friendly manner;
- Ushers patients to exam rooms and records height and weight as required.
- Updates patient charts as required;
- Sends faxes or prepares correspondence as required;
- Maintains confidentiality of all data and information;
- Monitors stock levels of office and medical supplies; ordering medical supplies;
- Maintains cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms by disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies, and preparing rooms for patient care;
- Provides administrative support to coordinate staff, team and committee meetings and activities;
- Performs other administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Post-secondary education and or/relevant education and experience in a related field such as business administration
- Completion of Medical Secretary Course or Office Administration Course (medical terminology, pharmacology) is an asset.
- Proficiency in computer applications: Windows, Microsoft Office programs and Internet Research
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to prioritize, adapt and manage time effectively and be flexible in a very active and dynamic work environment
- Exercises good judgment
- Ability to learn and work with electronic scheduling/booking system
- Medical office experience an asset
- Experience with electronic medical record systems an asset
