The Accounting Intern supports daily financial operations and general office administration. This role commonly assists with data entry, document management, and providing overall support to accounting staff and management. The position is well-suited for students or early-career candidates looking to build practical experience in accounting within a professional office environment.

Job Duties

Accounting Support

  • Handles the administration and distribution of client documents, as required:
    • Scans incoming client documents and organizing of documents, checking for accuracy
    • Saves all documents in client's online corresponding folders;
  • Assist with tax-related filings or compliance reporting under the guidance of senior staff
  • Perform data entry into appropriate software to maintain accurate and organized financial information
  • Assist with bookkeeping-related tasks as allocated
  • Assist in-house colleagues and remote colleagues with retrieving documents via CRA or BCOnline as needed

Administrative & Office Duties

  • Provides support to Office Manager;
    • Courteously handles inbound phone calls and respond, transfer, or take messages where appropriate
  • Receives and dispatches mail/couriers/packages in a timely and efficient manner
    • Check mailbox daily and distribute items to partners, managers or staff member
    • Accepts incoming packages and forwards to staff members

Human Resources

  • Opens and scans incoming mail for clients, redirecting as appropriate
  • Prepares client records to be returned
