One-Year Contract Role

We are seeking an organized and proactive Human Resources Assistant to support Boardwalk's key Human Resources functions including Recruiting, Training & Development, and Health & Safety. If you have strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting both people and processes, this role is for you

Responsibilities
Recruiting

  • Assist with recruiting, including posting positions, phone screening, and reference checks
  • Conduct and analyze compensation market surveys

Training & Development

  • Create, maintain, and update learning materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness
  • Enroll employees in training courses (internally developed and 3rd party courses)
  • Ensure timely re-enrollments and follow up on completion of courses
  • Troubleshoot Dayforce Learning issues as they arise

Health & Safety

  • Ensure timely follow-ups on required documents and upload as needed into the disability management system
  • Documentation of medical leaves and WCB claims

Human Resources

  • Maintain electronic employee files and records in a timely and confidential manner
  • Manage uniform ordering for all employees
  • Assist Human Resources, Health & Safety, and Payroll team members with other tasks

Education & Experience

  • Education in Human Resource Management an asset
  • Experience within a related administrative environment would be an asset

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems and new technology
  • Dayforce HCM knowledge an asset

Non-technical Requirements

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Detail-oriented and diligent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and always maintain utmost confidentiality with tact, diplomacy and integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
