POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Administrator will be providing administrative support to various human resources functions, including but not limited to: onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, maintaining employee records and HRIS entry. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator will be working closely with HR onboarding team, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and Talent Acquisition Specialist.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Onboarding & HRIS Management

  • Maintain new hire requests for existing and upcoming projects using SharePoint.
  • Send electronic onboarding to the new hire and create worker file in SharePoint.
  • Correspond with the new hire to ensure completeness of new hire paperwork and keep relevant stakeholders informed when new hire is cleared for hire.
  • Manage HR transaction requests for new hires, transfers, salary increases, promotions and terminations and ensure updates are accurately captured in HRIS.
  • Process and notify appropriate stakeholders (Payroll, AP/AR, Safety, IT services) of any changes pertaining to employee lifecycle.
  • Maintain HR documentation and employee files by ensuring accurate information is captured.
  • Work with IT Services to apply efficiencies in HRIS and enhance systems cohesion between Vista, Employee Portal, SharePoint, etc.

Benefits Administration

  • Provide benefits administration support for corporate and hourly employee benefits including but not limited to enrollments, terminations , changes in the benefits system, etc.
  • Liaise with Payroll team on payments and deductions for benefit-related tasks.

General Human Resources

  • Triage HR inbox and/or phone line and respond to or refer general HR related inquiries to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Build rapport with managers and employees to provide support and guidance.
  • Provide other administrative support as required.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of Business Administration diploma or degree; Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Commerce, or other related areas of study an asset but not required.
  • 1-3 years in an administrative role, preferably in oil and gas and/or construction industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and living out MasTec Purnell Canada's Core Values.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.

  • Strictest confidentiality and discretion of all private information is required.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines and solve practical problems.
  • General understanding of applicable provincial employment standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
