We are Nova Scotia's leader in Industrial manufacturing since 1971. We provide equipment repair, manufacturing, machining, CNC machining, grinding and plating services to a wide range of industries. We are currently seeking applications for "Department Supervisor │Machining & Repair". What does this look like? As supervisor, you would be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of our very busy machine & repair shop and running it like it's your own shop. Under the direction of the VP of Operations, you will guarantee that the machining shop remains smooth and efficient by monitoring employees and organizing workflow. With your constant direction and support, you will drive continuous improvement by identifying, analyzing, and making improvements to systems, products and services.

Our "Department Supervisor │Machining & Repair" is a team player, is self-motivated and self-directed and leads by example each and every day. You are not afraid to ask tough questions and motivate accountability. Strong organizational and time management skills are vital to the role.

Typical daily responsibilities include:

· Team leader and mentor

· Daily scheduling of resources optimizing for on-time delivery and profit

· Maintain operational cost within agreed budget and practice diligent cost control

· Participate in all incident corrective action review and implementation

· Overall accountability for shop productivity and on-time delivery

· Overall accountability for shop health and safety culture, system, implementation, development and performance

· Overall accountability for shop quality performance, implementation, and improvements

· Continually update customers and sales team on job completion

· Provide operational updates as scheduled by management

· Schedule and implement initiatives and programs received from management

· Provide direct input on policies, initiatives and programs during development

Potential candidates should have the following skills and experience:

· Post-secondary education or relevant work experience

· 5+ years machine shop or relevant supervisory experience

· Red seal manual machinist considered an asset

· Very proficient with MS word, excel and outlook

· Highly organized and experience working within deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal

· Strong data analysis skills, coupled with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results

· Familiarity with quality management and continuous improvement processes

· Good decision making and problem-solving capabilities

· Fixed residence in Nova Scotia
