Our “**Department Supervisor │Machining & Repair**” is a team player, is self-motivated and self-directed and leads by example each and every day. You are not afraid to ask tough questions and motivate accountability. Strong organizational and time management skills are vital to the role.

**Typical daily responsibilities include**:

- Team leader and mentor
- Daily scheduling of resources optimizing for on-time delivery and profit
- Maintain operational cost within agreed budget and practice diligent cost control
- Participate in all incident corrective action review and implementation
- Overall accountability for shop productivity and on-time delivery
- Overall accountability for shop health and safety culture, system, implementation, development and performance
- Overall accountability for shop quality performance, implementation, and improvements
- Continually update customers and sales team on job completion
- Provide operational updates as scheduled by management
- Schedule and implement initiatives and programs received from management
- Provide direct input on policies, initiatives and programs during development
- Post-secondary education or relevant work experience
- 5+ years machine shop or relevant supervisory experience
- Red seal manual machinist considered an asset
- Very proficient with MS word, excel and outlook
- Highly organized and experience working within deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
- Strong data analysis skills, coupled with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results
- Familiarity with quality management and continuous improvement processes
- Good decision making and problem-solving capabilities
- Fixed residence in Nova Scotia
