Engineering Manager, Full Stack

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our spacious office in Toronto.

Your Day to Day

Technical Leadership & Full Stack Development

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, ensuring high-quality development and technical excellence
• Contribute to full-stack development using Python/Django and TypeScript/React
• Guide the team in building and optimizing REST API endpoints for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Responsible for designing highly scalable, available and reliable systems
• Review and refine technical designs in Figma before implementation
• Drive the deployment process to AWS, leveraging and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Enforce coding standards, best practices, and robust automated testing strategies
• Maintain and improve technical documentation across the engineering team

Product & Engineering Innovation

• Work closely with Product, Customer Success, and key stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and frameworks to improve system efficiency, security, and scalability
• Lead architecture discussions, experiments, and technical evaluations to improve system performance and maintainability
• Collaborate with marketing and account management teams to understand customer pain points and refine product strategy
• Act as a key technical representative, maintaining relationships with strategic and technical partners

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• Strong experience with backend development using Python/Django or a similar framework
• Proficiency in frontend development using React/TanStack Query or similar frameworks
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
• Deep understanding of REST API design, development, and third-party integrations
• Experience with databases (SQL & ORMs) and writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code
• Strong experience with Git and version control workflows
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing hands-on technical work with team management
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and fostering a collaborative team culture
