Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be a technically minded professional with experience supporting electrical projects through take-offs, drawing review, and project coordination. This role works closely with contractors, engineers, and distributors to ensure accurate quotations, timely execution, and strong technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
A strong understanding of engineered drawings, specifications, and construction documents is essential. Experience performing material take-offs and working with Bluebeam (or similar PDF markup software) is considered a strong asset.
Success in this role comes from technical accuracy, organization, responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Location & Work Arrangement
- Primary work location: West Mississauga, Ontario
- This role is office-based during the onboarding and initial review period
- Hybrid work flexibility may be offered following a successful review period, based on role performance and business needs
Key Responsibilities
- Review engineered drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Perform detailed material take-offs and assist with project pricing
- Support the sales team with technical input, product selection, and system layouts
- Coordinate project details between manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and engineers
- Manage assigned accounts and projects, including order tracking, scheduling, and follow-ups
- Respond to customer inquiries with timely and accurate technical information
- Track opportunities and project status using CRM tools
- Identify opportunities to add value through alternative solutions, product options, or scope clarification
- Participate in trade shows, site visits, and relevant industry events as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, Engineering Technologist diploma, or 2+ years of relevant technical experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineered electrical drawings and specifications
- Experience with material take-offs and estimating
- Proficiency in Bluebeam (or similar PDF markup / take-off software) is a strong asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Familiarity with the Ontario electrical distribution, contractor, and specification market is considered an asset
- Experience in the electrical, construction, or related industries preferred
