Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Barback and become a vital part of creating an energetic, welcoming nightlife experience As a Barback, you'll be the backbone of the bar operation, ensuring that bartenders are equipped with everything they need to serve guests efficiently and with flair.

Duties

  • Support bartenders by restocking liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and bar tools swiftly and accurately to maintain seamless service flow.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down counters, cleaning glassware, and sanitizing surfaces in accordance with health standards.
  • Buss tables and clear empty glasses or dishes promptly to keep the bar area tidy and inviting.
  • Operate POS systems Square/Toast for cash handling, order processing, and transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are followed diligently during service.
  • Support catering or banquet events by setting up stations, serving guests, or clearing tables as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service efforts and address guest needs promptly.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors when supplies need replenishing.
  • Uphold excellent customer service standards by maintaining a positive attitude and engaging politely with guests at all times.

Requirements

  • 2 yrs of previous experience in busy Toronto west-end bars is preferred.
  • Valid SmartServe Ontario is required
  • Familiarity with POS systems -Toast/Square for cashiering and order processing.
  • Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic bar environment in line with health regulations.
  • Ability to assist with food preparation tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Experience bussing tables or supporting catering events is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards within the food industry.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact positively with guests.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work during evening hours in a lively bar setting.
