Highway Driver Cube Van Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, team players in Summerside, PEI. As a Highway Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials within a designated regional area, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.

Company vehicle will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely drive and operate a cube van.
• Pick up and deliver varieties of items to various locations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after trips.
• Comply with driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures
• Document and log work/ rest periods and miles spent driving
• Physical labor/handling of shipments weighing upwards of 50-75 lbs.
• Load and unload deliveries through a variety of mechanisms and delivery assistance devices.
• Use technology to map routes, deliver/pickup/track shipments and communicate universally.
• Ensure documents are delivered and entered accurately.
• Maintain route supply inventory to ensure prompt delivery to customers.
• Scan freight while doing pickups and deliveries.
• Perform all customer tasks in a polite, resourceful, and professional manner and overall excellent customer service throughout the process.
• Maintain Vehicle cleanliness
• Any other duties as required.

Basic Requirements:

• 1-2 years experience driving professionally preferred.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Reliable and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License (required)
• Criminal Record Check Required
