About the Role

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist with deep expertise in Microsoft technologies to design, build, and optimize our data-driven reporting and analytics environment. This individual will play a key role in transforming business requirements into meaningful insights through robust data models, reports, and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities


• Architect, design, and manage Microsoft SQL Server and related database solutions, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.


• Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and visualizations to deliver actionable insights.


• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design BI solutions, and translate data into clear business intelligence outputs.


• Design and implement ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines to support enterprise reporting needs.


• Ensure data integrity, governance, and security across reporting solutions.


• Troubleshoot and optimize existing BI solutions for performance and usability.


• Stay current with Microsoft BI technologies and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and architectures.

Mandatory Qualifications


• Proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server database design, development, and administration.


• Advanced proficiency in Power BI (datasets, DAX, data modeling, dashboards, and reporting).


• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing, and performance tuning.


• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into BI solutions.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Excellent communication skills: ability to interact confidently with all levels of the organization (C-Suite to factory floor Supervisors) to gather project/task requirements and deliver report specific training.

Nice-to-Have Skills


• Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.


• Experience with Power Apps for building low-code business applications.


• Familiarity with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake).


• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and security best practices.


• Exposure to data science concepts such as predictive analytics, statistical modeling, or machine learning using Python, R, or Azure Machine Learning.

Education & Experience


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).


• 4+ years of experience working in BI, data engineering, or database development with Microsoft technologies.
