Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Journeyman Machinist located at our facility in Calgary, Alberta. This position will be a designated day shift and has the responsibility for creating quality parts produced on various machines such as but not limited to lathes and milling machines and general shop equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works without direction to most complicated drawings, sketches, etc., and verbal instructions
  • Operate all types of Machine Shop (CNC and conventional) equipments
  • Perform all machining functions for any major or minor components for vehicles, rigs or part thereof
  • Ability to perform, set-up and operate job related machines
  • Ensure work piece dimensions are correct and to established tolerance criteria
  • Measure, examine and test completed parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and blueprints
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with provincial and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces

Qualifications:

  • Licensed tradesman of the Province of Alberta
  • Ability to assist less experienced personnel with work methods, habits and performance
  • Able to maintain a set of tools to perform machining functions
  • Performs other tasks relating to his/her classification
