Highlights of this opportunity:

Create compelling copy for various purposes, including editorials, press releases, show descriptions, and quotes.Write, edit, and proofread communications materials – including newsletters and website updates – that align with APTN's voice and mandate.Build and maintain strong relationships with media by managing contact lists, assisting with outreach, and monitoring coverage related to APTN.Ensure all communications reflect APTN's brand guidelines and commitment to Indigenous storytelling.Assist with planning and promoting APTN events, including logistics and communications materials.

Your accomplishments and experience include: 

A diploma or degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field;3+ years in communications or media-related roles; experience in Indigenous media or cultural organizations is an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and accept feedback in a professional, constructive manner;Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail; familiarity with Canadian Press style/guidelines;Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and WordPress for content management;Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for creating and editing visual content; Experience with Muck Rack for media relations and HubSpot for marketing and CRM functions is an asset;Understanding of Indigenous cultures and perspectives is preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English is required.
