The Chiropractic Association of Alberta was launched on December 1, 2021, following the separation from the Chiropractic College of Alberta under Bill 46. The Opportunity

We're a small, high impact team that values initiative, collaboration, and excellence. As Communications Assistant to the CEO, you'll play a central role in keeping our daily operations running smoothly. From managing schedules and coordinating communications to ensuring deadlines are met, you'll be the backbone of our leadership team.

This role combines approximately 40% administrative support with 60% communications support. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, communicates with clarity and confidence, and enjoys creating order out of complexity.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Executive Support: Manage the CEO's calendar, coordinate meetings and travel, prepare agendas and briefing materials, take minutes, and track key deadlines and priorities.
  • Administrative Coordination: Organize documents and files, handle light data entry, and support expense reporting and correspondence.
  • Project & Event Support: Assist with timelines, deliverables, and communications for internal projects; coordinate logistics for meetings, member events, and the annual conference.
  • Communications Support: Develop Communication Plans and content for program and project launches.
  • Communication Management: Monitor emails, respond to inquiries on behalf of the CEO, and ensure timely follow up.
  • Professional Skills: Exercise discretion with confidential information, demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
  • Occasional Travel: Travel within Alberta (and occasionally nationally) to support conferences, meetings, and events

Education and Experience

  • Educational background in business administration, communications, public relations, office administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in executive support, event coordination, or office administration, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in an office environment with event management is strongly preferred.
  • Membership or interest in professional associations such as IABC, CMA, ACE, or CPRS considered an asset.
