Description

The Association of Métis Capital Corporations (AMCC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Advisor, Policy and Operations to work closely with the Executive Director on coordination, governance, and technical initiatives that support AMCC's member capital corporations.

This role is outward-facing and relationship-focused. The Advisor will support coordination between AMCC members and federal, private-sector, and institutional stakeholders. The position involves reviewing policy and program requirements, identifying operational and administrative constraints affecting member organizations, and contributing to shared initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce burden, and strengthen access to capital across the network.

The Advisor will also support governance and policy development, federal contribution agreement administration and reporting, and the delivery of technical and operational projects undertaken on behalf of AMCC members in a dynamic and evolving environment.

ResponsibilitiesAdvocacy & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support engagement between member capital corporations and federal, private-sector, and institutional partners
  • Assist with policy and advocacy efforts related to systemic challenges, including access to capital and program design issues
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with government officials, partners, and sector stakeholders

Policy, Program & Strategic Support

  • Contribute to the development of policy positions, program concepts, and shared operational solutions that support member organizations
  • Conduct research and analysis and prepare briefing materials for internal decision-making and external engagement
  • Support initiatives that promote coordination, consistency, and economies of scale across the AMCC network

Governance & Organizational Support

  • Support governance processes, including policy development, Board materials, and corporate documentation
  • Assist with coordination related to Board and committee activities to ensure materials are accurate and decision-ready

Federal Contribution Agreements & Reporting

  • Support the administration and reporting of federal contribution agreements
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, schedules, and documentation required by funding partners
  • Work with financial and program information to ensure reporting is accurate and aligned with funding requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, business, finance, public administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in policy, program, operational, or analytical roles in government, finance, or quasi-public environments
  • Experience supporting federally funded programs, contribution agreements, or reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze program or policy requirements and assess operational impacts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment in a small, high-performing team environment

Technical Experience

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including structured reporting, financial analysis, tracking, and dashboarding
  • Comfort working with financial, program, and performance data
