About the Role:

Sezzle is seeking a talented and motivated Product Intern based in Canada who is best in class with a high IQ plus a high EQ. This role presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing team, with abundant prospects for career advancement. You will support testing and quality assurance across both our mobile app and web platform. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience identifying bugs, validating features, and ensuring our digital experiences run smoothly for our users.

You'll work closely with Sezzle's product and engineering teams to support successful feature launches and elevate overall product quality. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to understand how quality assurance drives innovation at a fast-growing fintech company.

What You'll Do:

  • Thoroughly test features on both mobile and web platforms before and after launch to ensure successful implementation and optimal functionality.
  • Report any bugs or issues to the appropriate teams with detailed, actionable information and potential solutions.
  • Evaluate user experiences and workflows on mobile and web interfaces, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering to uphold quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.

What We Look For:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher (required for consideration).
  • Interest in product operations and strategy, with a willingness to learn how to influence outcomes in a team environment.
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative methods to understand customer needs.
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate product issues and needs into technical requirements.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with the basics of product management and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or introductory SQL knowledge.
  • Understanding of effective UX principles, gained through coursework or analysis of popular apps/websites.
  • Exposure to design platforms like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Experience using agile project management tools such as Jira or the Atlassian suite.

About You:

  • You have relentlessly high standards – you strive for excellence and ensure issues are fixed right the first time. Many people may think your standards are unreasonably high. You are continually raising the bar and driving those around you to deliver great results. You make sure that defects do not get sent down the line and that problems are fixed so they stay fixed.
  • You're not bound by convention – you enjoy innovating and improving processes, and your success and much of the fun lies in developing new ways to do things.
  • You need action – speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk-taking. You're not afraid of taking calculated risks.
  • You earn trust – you communicate clearly and treat others with respect. You listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully.
  • You have backbone; disagree, then commit – you advocate for the right decisions, even when it's tough. You can respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. You have conviction and are tenacious. You do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. Once a decision is determined, you commit wholly.
  • You deliver results – you focus on impact and deliver high-quality outcomes despite setbacks. You focus on the key inputs and deliver them with the right quality and in a timely fashion. Despite setbacks, you rise to the occasion and never settle.

What Makes Working at Sezzle Awesome:

At Sezzle, we are more than just brilliant engineers, passionate data enthusiasts, out-of-the-box thinkers, and determined innovators. We believe in surrounding ourselves with only the best and the brightest individuals. Our culture is not defined by a certain set of perks designed to give the illusion of the traditional startup culture, but rather, it is the visible example living in every employee that we hire.
