Position Summary:

Regional Account Manager- Eastern Ontario

The Food Service Account Manager is responsible for driving sales and market penetration of Lesters' premium deli meat products (hot dogs, smoked meat, sausages, cold cuts, etc.) within the food service sector. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with customers such as restaurants, quick-service outlets, institutions, and distributors to increase product placement, usage, and loyalty. The representative serves as the key point of contact, providing culinary expertise, menu ideas, promotional support, and solutions to help customers succeed while meeting company sales targets.

This is a remote work position with the ideal candidate residing in eastern Ontario from Peterborough to Ottawa.

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or a related field.
  • You already have at least 5 years of experience in the food industry or other related industries.
  • A strong network of relationships with restaurants and distributors in the Ottawa area is an asset.
  • You are a good communicator and negotiator; we tell you that all the time
  • You have good ability to work under pressure, are structured and organized.
  • You are a person who is open to change in a constantly changing environment.
  • You have good computer knowledge (SalesForce, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.);
  • You are bilingual, comfortable in both English and French. Not 100% essential, but nice to have.
  • And if you're also an autonomous person with good time management, then we really need to talk

Here's how you'd spend your days if you were working in this position:

  • Participate in the development of sales in the territory with distributors and restaurateurs.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Ottawa area, including Gatineau, Kingston and Peterborough. With a focus on regional chains and large independent operators.
  • Develop close relationships with distributors' sales teams.
  • Take the lead with GFS as your primary distributor.
  • Ensure that sales objectives are met and exceeded.
  • Maintain your SalesForce account.
  • Continually seek out new business opportunities and be on the lookout for information on the competition.
  • Participate in various sales shows in the foodservice sector.
  • Follow-up on customer service requests.
  • Provide product expertise, demos, and training to customers on our product offerings.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards in all sales activities.
