The Front of House Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-of-house area, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and managing staff performance. This role involves coordinating between various departments, handling guest inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Club Atwater has a cafe, restaurant/bar, and events, as well as fitness group classes, personal trainers, gyms, pickleball courts, badminton courts, squash courts, massage therapy, athletic therapy, acupuncture, etc. Front of House coordinator will directly report to the Operations Director.

Weekly Hours:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 3 PM - 10 PM
  • Saturday: 9 AM - 5 PM
  • Sunday: 9 AM - 1 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address any issues promptly to enhance the overall experience.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of front-of-house staff, including receptionists, hosts/hostesses, and servers.
  • Conduct training for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff.
  • Perform regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient daily operations
  • Monitor and maintain front-of-house cleanliness and organization.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate service and address any operational issues.
  • Oversee inventory management for front-of-house supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain and update reservation systems and guest databases.
  • Prepare and review reports related to guest feedback, staff performance, and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure the front-of-house area meets cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a front-of-house role or similar customer-facing position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in using reservation and point-of-sale (POS) systems (i.e. Lightspeed) is an asset
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Flexibility of work hours.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a role in a hospitality or restaurant setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry items
  • Manual dexterity for handling equipment and managing tasks.
