Role Overview

The Part-Time Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, lead budgeting and forecasting processes, support strategic planning, and ensure maintains financial rigor as we continue to scale. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and enjoys owning processes from end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Operations

  • Oversee bookkeeping functions, including expense tracking and reconciliations
  • Manage accounts receivable/accounts payable processes
  • Responsible for processing payroll and adhering to payroll compliance
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with year-end close

Cash Flow & Risk Management

  • Monitor cash flow and recommend improvements
  • Support grant reporting, funding applications, and investor documentation
  • Identify opportunities to optimize financial processes and systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Experience with small to mid-size companies, tech, or consulting environments is an asset
  • Proficiency with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets, BambooHR)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently while coordinating with other departments
