Job Summary

Rideau Clinic by Southern Alberta Surgical Centre, , is currently seeking a full time Medical Receptionist, starting immediately.

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing a welcoming and efficient experience for all visitors and callers. If you have experience in the medical field, you may be perfect for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to.

  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and manage email correspondence.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of the office/surgeon calendars.
  • Complete insurance claims and maintain confidential patient information, such as medical results and case histories, with electronic medical record software (Accuro).
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication.
  • Manage the office's general administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and ordering supplies.
  • Handle patient inquires and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Perform basic disinfection and decontamination of equipment and exam rooms if needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in office administration or related fields is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Compassionate and patient-oriented with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality (familiarity with HIIPA and FOIP)
  • Previous experience with Accuro EMR is an asset.
