Job Description
The Human Resources Intern role is designed to provide hands-on work experience and skill building for college students interested in pursuing a career in HR. In this role, the Human Resources Intern will learn key processes, roles, and functions within our distribution/warehouse HR operations, while working alongside experienced HR professionals. Hillman Group is committed to pay transparency. The hourly rate for the Marketing Internship is $25.01 CAD.

Responsibilities

Learn, understand, support, and deliver Hillman's new hire onboarding and orientation process, with focus on hourly distribution/warehouse associates.
Learn and understand company policies and practices.
Support hourly distribution/warehouse associates (700 plus) with general HR requests and questions.
Work with Human Resources Business Partners and management with the implementation of action plans following recent employee survey.
Learn and navigate company HRIS system (Dayforce) and Badging system (Brivo).
Provide support for recruiting functions (screening candidates, scheduling interviews, etc.).
Assist with the planning and execution of company employee events.
Assist with HR administrative duties as needed.
Assist with department projects as needed.

Qualifications 

Locally based in Cincinnati, OH and willing to work onsite 5 days a week.
Minimum of 1 year of college experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow through and respond to requests with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results, and continuous improvement.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Show strong passion for building a career in Human Resources.
Willing to learn, seek and develop new skills and opportunities.
An avid learner and critical thinker.
Flexible and adaptable.
