Role Overview
As a Level 2 Educator at Core Compass, you are a lead facilitator of our out-of-school care programs. Building on the foundation laid by Level 1 staff, you hold primary responsibility for designing, delivering, and evaluating play-based experiences that enrich the lives of children aged 5-12 before school, after school, and on non-school days.
Working in partnership with the Program Director and Supervisor, you mentor Level 1 Educators, model best practices, and take ownership of daily program flow—from inspiring provocations and outdoor adventures to reflective closing circles. You are a champion of our CORE values, an ambassador to families, and a steady compass for children navigating their journey toward their true North.
Mission
CORE exists to guide every child's journey toward their true North.
Vision
Our vision is to set the standard for school‑age care in Alberta—preferred by children, trusted by families, guided by values, and rooted in the heart of every community.
Values Statement (C.O.R.E.)
- Together, at CORE, we start with Gratitude.
- We talk and listen — that's Communication.
- We try, learn and explore — that's Opportunity.
- We keep going even when it's hard — that's Resilience.
- We care about how others feel — that's Empathy.
- We grow strong in our bodies, minds, hearts and spirit.
Position Summary
Level 2 Educators lead the day-to-day planning, implementation, and documentation of programming. They collaborate with senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, high-quality environments, and continuous improvement. When delegated, a Level 2 Educator may assume temporary charge of the program.
Reporting Line
Reports to the Program Director and, when delegated, to any senior staff member (e.g., Director, Executive Director, Executive Leadership, Quality Assurance). Acts as mentor and daily lead for Level 1 Educators, practicum students, and volunteers.
