Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) – Part-Time

PhysioTouch Courtice – Courtice, ON

PhysioTouch Courtice is a community-based physiotherapy clinic supporting patients of all ages; children, adults, and seniors. Our clinic provides exercise-focused rehabilitation along with modern therapeutic treatments such as shockwave, laser, ultrasound, TENS/IFC, manual therapy support, and heat/ice therapy.

We are currently looking for a Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team.

About the Role

The PTA will work under the direction of the supervising physiotherapist (DS) to help guide patient exercises and support therapy sessions. In addition to treatment support, the PTA will assist with daily clinic operations, including front-desk tasks, scheduling, taking payments, preparing treatment rooms, cleaning, and general support wherever needed.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, friendly, and comfortable working with a wide range of patients.

Key Responsibilities

Treatment Support

  • Assist patients with exercise programs focused on strength, mobility, balance, gait, and posture.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities as directed (shockwave, laser, ultrasound, TENS, IFC, heat/ice).
  • Monitor patients for safe and correct use of equipment.

Patient Interaction

  • Provide clear guidance on home exercise programs.
  • Communicate respectfully with patients of all ages, including seniors and children.
  • Report any concerns or changes in patient status to the supervising physiotherapist.

Clinical & Front Desk Support

  • Greet patients and assist with scheduling and payments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system.
  • Prepare and clean treatment spaces and equipment.
  • Follow all infection-control procedures to maintain a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized PTA/OTA program or a degree in Kinesiology (preferred).
  • Experience in a physiotherapy or healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to follow treatment direction accurately.
  • Comfortable working with seniors, adults, youth, and children.
  • CPR/First Aid is an asset.
  • Reliable transportation.
