Pay Rate:
$48–$52/hr (Incorporated) | $39–$43/hr (T4/Term)

A leading Canadian
marine engineering and shipbuilding organization
is expanding its electrical systems team and is looking for an
Electrical Engineer II (Instrumentation & Controls)
to support new construction projects that are shaping the future of the marine and defence industries.

This is a hands-on engineering role in a fast-paced, technically complex environment — ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, design work, and seeing their systems come to life in the field.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute design packages for electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems on large-scale new construction programs.
  • Prepare and review
    instrumentation lists, interface control diagrams, and wiring diagrams
    to ensure design compliance.
  • Conduct
    trade studies
    to determine the most efficient and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Create
    material specifications, bills of material, and documentation
    that align with project requirements and internal material strategies.
  • Participate in all phases of the design process — from concept through execution and close-out.
  • Provide technical mentorship and collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree
    in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering.
  • 3+ years
    of post-graduation experience in electrical, controls, or instrumentation engineering.
  • Experience in
    heavy industry
    — ideally shipbuilding, marine, manufacturing, or oil & gas.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills; confident preparing detailed specifications and reports.
  • Knowledge of
    MRP and purchasing systems

  • Solid proficiency with
    Microsoft Office
    (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and high-quality engineering execution.
