Senior Electrical Engineer (Buildings)
Impact Engineering is currently seeking a self-motivated Senior Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design of building electrical systems.
The qualified candidate will lead electrical design and consulting services for various project types, and will provide mentorship to junior team members. The Senior Electrical Engineer will report directly to the electrical department lead.
You are a detail-oriented engineer, with exceptional communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Project manage the delivery of electrical design projects
- Mentor more junior staff
- Conduct electrical load calculations for various building types and sizes
- Design lighting systems that are energy-efficient and meet code requirements
- Design fire alarm systems that comply with the BC Building Code and local fire department requirements
- Design access control systems that ensure building security
- Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project team members to ensure coordinated design efforts
- Review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information during construction administration
- Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and provide field support as needed
- Maintain project files and documentation in accordance with company procedures
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Applicants must hold P.Eng designation (BC)
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in building electrical design
- Proficiency in electrical load calculations and lighting design software
- Familiarity with fire alarm and access control systems design
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
