Job Description

The Electrical Engineer II/III is responsible for executing Electrical Systems engineering assignments on new construction projects. Under the direction of the Manager, Electrical Systems, or their delegate, the Electrical Systems Engineer participates in all phases of new construction design projects including requirements decomposition, design preparations, supporting analysis, material selection and specification, engineering execution, and engineering close-out activities.

Duties/Accountabilities

  • Provides engineering and design support in assigned areas of Electrical Power Systems by preparing design and calculation packages to ensure contract design requirements are met.
  • Develops design documents such as Electrical Load Lists, Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Cable Diagrams, Instrumentation and Controls Lists, Interface control diagrams, termination and wiring diagrams.
  • Route Cables in 3D model environment
  • Reviews the Ship 3D model for integration of equipment and cable
  • Develops material specifications and bills of material in accordance with clients material strategies and customer requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 4+ years of post-secondary experience in Electrical, controls and instrumentation Engineering is vital.
  • Experience working in a heavy industry environment is required.
  • Experience working with a diverse integrated project team is considered an asset.
