Senior AI Data Scientist

About this position:
As a Senior AI Data Scientist, you will lead model prototyping and experimentation efforts to unlock the potential of AI within our organization. This role involves collaborating closely with stakeholders, engineers, and business users to identify, design, and validate innovative AI solutions that address real business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rapidly prototype machine learning models and algorithms for diverse business applications.
• Lead experimentation to evaluate new methods, architectures, and data sources for predictive accuracy and business value.
• Design and execute robust experiments, including data preparation, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
• Assess model performance using statistical and business metrics, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and robustness.
• Document the process, results, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI research—share insights and drive knowledge adoption in the team.
• Collaborate with data engineers to build and maintain datasets and ensure reproducibility of experiments.
• Contribute to the transition of successful prototypes into production through partnership with AI Engineers and MLOps.

Requirements:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in advanced analytics, applied data science, or machine learning.
• Proven track record of rapid prototyping, experimentation, and model development for real-world applications.
• Deep experience with Python, R, or similar data science programming languages and packages (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience with data wrangling, feature engineering, and advanced statistical analysis.
• Expertise in experiment design, evaluation metrics, and model validation approaches.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data science environments and version control (Git).
• Strong communication skills to present findings to technical and business audiences.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in an AI-first or research-driven organization.
• Contribution to open-source projects or publications in AI/ML.
