- You are a finance professional and possess 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis and cost accounting ideally within food manufacturing or CPG.
- You excel in raw material and production costing, month-end close processes, and providing actionable financial insights to support plant operations.

The Position
The Junior Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will play an important role in contributing to the Finance Team. Specifically, the Junior Controller will carry out the following responsibilities:
- Develop annual budgets for manufacturing sites in Canada and the U.S., in collaboration with plant leadership, ensuring alignment with growth objectives, and provide monthly variance reports to track performance, identify trends, and drive informed decision-making.
- Conduct general financial planning and analysis for 2 plants (1 in Ontario and 1 in Ohio), including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning, to support the company's growth strategy and expansion.
- Lead comprehensive cost accounting for raw materials, production, and overhead at 2 plants. Deliver precise costing models to optimize operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making for plant controllers.
- Serve as a key financial partner to plant managers, delivering ad hoc analyses, costings, and actionable insights to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and execute timely, accurate month-end close processes ensuring robust financial reporting and compliance.
- Support the operational transformation of the production facilities, including the shift from single- to three-shift operations by providing financial guidance and cost-impact assessments to ensure seamless scalability.
- Play a pivotal role in the deployment of a new ERP system across regional plants, collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline data integration, enhance reporting capabilities, and modernize financial processes.
- Align and standardize financial workflows across 2-3 plants, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability in support of multi-site growth.
- Partner with leadership to evaluate capital expenditure (Capex) investments, assess operational changes, and contribute to process improvements, ensuring financial alignment with the company's vision of revitalizing and scaling operations.
- Support the broader Finance Team as required.
Position Requirements
Education and Experience:
- University degree in Business/Commerce, Accounting or Finance is required
- CPA designation is an asset but not mandatory
- Demonstrated skills in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, with the ability to provide strategic insights for multi-site operations.
- Hands-on experience executing accurate and timely month-end financial closes, ensuring compliance and reliable reporting.
- Proven ability in cost accounting, including raw material, production, and overhead costing, ideally within a manufacturing or Consumer Packaged Goods environment. Experience supporting plant operations is critical.
- Exposure to ERP system implementation or usage (e.g., setup, data integration, or reporting enhancements).
- Experience supporting change management, such as process improvements, shift expansions, or facility upgrades, with a focus on financial implications.
- Capability to align and standardize financial processes across multiple sites, enhancing consistency and scalability.
- Ability to travel occasionally to regional plants in SW, ON and Ohio .
