Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
This position, reporting to the Associate Dean (Graduate Programs) provides support for the Faculty of Nursing's new Master of Nurse Practitioner Practice (MNPP) and Post-Master's Certificate in Nurse Practitioner Speciality Practice (NPSP).
This position is the first point of contact for incoming, current and prospective students; coordinates the admission process, and course scheduling; and supports the work of several graduate student related committees. This position also provides administrative support and communications within the Faculty of Nursing Graduate Office.

Student Support
- Provides comprehensive coordination and administrative support for graduate program operations, including admissions, courses, awards, and faculty committee activities.
- Manages application assessment and admissions processes by evaluating credentials, calculating admission GPAs, advising committees on applicant selection, and monitoring admissions data and enrolment trends.
- Delivers academic and administrative advising to graduate students, serving as the primary point of contact for program guidance, policy interpretation, and referrals to appropriate academic or wellness resources.
- Monitors student progress, prepares required graduate program documentation, and liaises with faculty, administrators, and the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies on complex or exceptional cases.
- Counsels and advocates for students on program decisions such as leaves of absence, withdrawals, extensions, and registration status, facilitating access to faculty and university resources.
- Coordinates program completion activities, including capstone and thesis milestones, final examinations, and ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and deadlines leading to convocation.
Administration:
- Serves as the first point of contact for the Graduate Office, handling general inquiries, greeting visitors, and directing them appropriately while maintaining office records and shared files.
- Develops and maintains spreadsheets, databases, and reports, and supports technology solutions by identifying opportunities for innovation and process automation.
- Provides comprehensive administrative support for Graduate Office meetings and events, including scheduling, agenda preparation, documentation, logistics, and priority management.
- Manages calendar scheduling for the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, and supports Graduate Office–specific processes and initiatives as needed.
Communication:
- Maintains and updates the Faculty of Nursing Graduate website, uploading new content as needed
Create solution articles for graduate admissions in Freshservice
Undergraduate degree; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in an administrative environment; experience in a postsecondary environment is an asset
- Experience working with students or working in a student-centered environment is a strong asset
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively
- Demonstrated attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, adapt, problem-solve and prioritize directions from multiple sources
- Computer proficiency using MS Office applications, Google platforms, Generative AI, and internet search engines is required; experience with Cascade, FreshService (FreshWorks), Campus Solutions and other software applications is an asset
- Knowledge of University of Alberta policies and procedures is an asset
