Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and personable Front Desk Receptionist to join our salon team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service while managing appointments and administrative duties. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with scheduling software, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic salon environment. Previous salon or spa experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and positive first impression
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, answering inquiries and scheduling appointments with professional phone etiquette
  • Book, confirm, and manage client appointments using salon scheduling software and Google Workspace
  • Process payments, handle cash and card transactions, and maintain accurate transaction records
  • Perform data entry and maintain client records, service histories, and contact information
  • Retail sales support: recommend and sell hair care products, process purchases, and manage inventory tracking
  • Handle client inquiries regarding services, pricing, stylist availability, and product information
  • Coordinate with stylists to manage appointment flow and minimize wait times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting reception area and retail display
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks including daily reconciliation, invoicing, and basic financial record-keeping as needed
  • Support salon operations by ordering supplies, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth daily workflow

Experience

  • Prior receptionist or customer service experience preferred, especially in salon, spa, or hospitality settings
  • Familiarity with appointment scheduling systems (Vagaro, Mindbody, Square Appointments, or similar platforms)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in scheduling and data management
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in salon, spa, or beauty industry settings is a plus but not mandatory

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $30,000.00-$57,158.84 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
