Position Summary:
Reporting to HOD, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for in-depth review and production of accounting with objective of providing accurate, reliable and timely information to management. This position will support HOD in managing the integrity of accounting controls. The Accounting Manager will build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide professional financial assistance in alignment with organizational priorities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support HOD in ensuring departmental objectives are achieved.
- Contribute to quality assurance reviews on financial working papers.
- Ensure all internal control policies and procedures are followed, including the documentation and completion of proper audit trails.
- Maintain General Ledger Chart of Accounts.
- Manage month-end close process including journal entry review, GL reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee day to day operations of the finance department.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to finance department.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting quality and implement efficiencies to improve overall team performance.
Required Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Degree in Finance or related discipline.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Experience with complex ERPs, particularly SAP considered an asset.
- Strong planning, organizing and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team-orientated environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with others at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
