The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of efficient and safe manufacturing processes, from initial concept to production. You will play a key role in scaling our manufacturing operations and ensuring the highest quality standards for our innovative battery energy storage solutions.
The Role

Responsibilities and Duties
- Planning and optimization of material handling, workflows, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement robust safety protocols and best practices within the manufacturing environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing throughput and overall efficiency.
- Utilize previous experience in scaling manufacturing operations from zero to volume production.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Implement all assembly instructions
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities between R&D and pilot to volume manufacturing.
- Evaluate, select, and procure manufacturing equipment to support production needs.
- Collaborate with design teams to provide manufacturing reviews for new product designs, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and refine assembly instructions, providing clear guidance for production teams.
- Own and manage manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules.
The Candidate
We're looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with a focus on scaling operations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including material handling, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
- Experience with battery energy storage systems or similar complex electromechanical products is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to select and implement manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Start-up experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with lithium-ion battery systems and battery management systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for batteries and energy storage, such as UL1973 or UL9540.
