Evaluation Services - Project Engineer
Intertek is searching for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Evaluation Servicesteam in our Coquitlam, BC office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the Code Compliance field The Project Engineer is responsible for managing certification projects.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive research on North American building codes and applicable product standards.
  • Develop detailed test plans and evaluation protocols based on research findings.
  • Prepare technical and certification documentation derived from test results and evaluations.
  • Prepare Code Reports for compliance to the US and Canadian Building Codes.
  • Perform audits and product sampling at client manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, laboratory, and technical teams to support seamless project execution.
  • Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery with continuous communication with clients.
  • Participate actively in industry committees, standards development activities, and technical association meetings.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

What It Takes To Be In This Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science (preferably Materials or Civil Engineering)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the code compliance field.
  • Expert-level knowledge of U.S. and Canadian model building codes and their application.
  • Demonstrated expertise in certification pathways, product evaluations, and regulatory approval processes.

Salary & Benefits Information
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year. When working with Intertek, you can expect salary and benefit package competitively placed within the local market, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with company match, generous vacation/sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.
