Project: Large-scale SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online modernization & migration
Role Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support enterprise content migration, modernize legacy SharePoint solutions, develop information architecture, and coordinate with stakeholders for M365-based digital solutions. This position involves working closely with business and technical teams to document requirements, support migration activities, redesign workflows, and ensure operational continuity during system transformation.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret business processes, deep knowledge of SharePoint environments, and experience contributing to large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analysis, documentation, technical support, and stakeholder engagement for SharePoint-based systems and services.
- Investigate and support changes related to system restructuring, organizational restructuring, or user access/security realignment.
- Lead discussions, requirements workshops, and stakeholder communication sessions.
- Develop technical specifications, business requirements, functional specifications, and data documentation.
- Schedule and facilitate team meetings, status calls, and reporting sessions.
- Prepare planning materials, business documentation, and implementation roadmaps.
- Escalate risks, provide options and recommendations, and track issue resolution.
- Ensure deliverables align with project scope, standards, and quality expectations.
- Communicate updates, status, and progress to project leadership and project teams.
- Apply recognized project governance methods to coordinate resources and dependencies.
- Provide technical recommendations and guidance to project members and leadership.
- Participate in proof-of-concept initiatives and rollout deployments.
- Provide quality validation during release and production deployment phases.
- Interpret operating guidelines and ensure compliance with organizational governance standards.
- Review technology enhancement requests and assess implications on architecture, cost, schedule, and compatibility.
Required Experience (Must-Have)
- Minimum 5 years of experience translating business requirements into detailed technical documentation in large IT programs.
- Minimum 5 years coordinating technical teams and deployments for IT projects of significant scale and complexity.
- Minimum 5 years facilitating requirements definition, scope setting, and stakeholder alignment across multiple departments or groups.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting complex SharePoint initiatives involving advanced configurations, workflows, site architecture, and metadata.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with both SharePoint 2016 (on-premises) and SharePoint Online (M365).
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing system specifications and design artifacts supporting content-centric platforms.
- Minimum 4 years of experience analyzing business workflows, data flows, process mapping, and system-interaction models.
- Minimum 3 years in developing business and IT documentation for strategic and operational technology initiatives.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting IT service management and application support environments.
- Minimum 4 years of experience successfully performing in agile or rapidly changing operational environments.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Familiarity with metadata modeling and information taxonomy.
- Ability to interpret policy, information governance, and access control requirements.
- Understanding application migration methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities across technical and non-technical audiences.
