Our challenge

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and documenting business requirements, analyzing processes, and proposing solutions to optimize business effectiveness within healthcare IT environments. This position requires collaboration with clinical, operational, and leadership stakeholders, especially in complex multi-vendor IT solution implementations.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Location is CAD $105k – CAD $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role – IT Technical Business Analyst

Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in identifying and documenting business requirements, interpreting business needs, and suggesting improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate requirements gathering workshops with clinical staff, operational teams, leadership, or stakeholder representatives.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing complex multi-vendor IT solutions.

Requirements:

  • Educational qualifications: Degree or diploma in Business, Information Technology, or a recognized certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) from the International Institute of Business Analysis.
  • Experience contributing to Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Alberta Netcare) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems used in community physician offices.
  • Proven experience in documenting requirements as part of Request for Proposal (RFP) procurement processes.
  • Experience in developing business cases, conducting feasibility studies, and performing alternative analysis.
  • Understanding of information management concepts, including privacy and security issues related to FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy).
  • Skilled in workflow and use case documentation.
  • Experience in facilitation, leading various stakeholder meetings and workshops.
  • Experience in developing new IT services, including defining service parameters, measurements, cost models, processes, and overseeing implementation and operational handover.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Knowledge of healthcare IT systems and processes
