About us:
Red Door Provisions is a popular third wave café located in Ottawa, Ontario. We are growing and expanding into a brand new space. Opening Early January 2026
We will be starting a brunch menu here at our new location focusing exclusively on breakfast/brunch service, and as such, we only require daytime hours. We anticipate weekends being extremely busy, and we do require at least one day of availability every weekend. We will be adopting our sister shop, Cafe Palmier's brunch programming while also developing our own specific flair.
Tips will be shared between FOH and BOH to be determined and will add $$ to your hourly.
Pay can be discussed and will be based on experience. There is always room for growth in the future.
Street parking is available, staff eat and drink for free, paid sick days, flexible schedule, beautiful building.
This position is best suited for a motivated, experienced cook who is interested in leaving the nighttime restaurant scene and is interested in a more balanced lifestyle.
Sous Chef
Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development
- Oversee and manage the kitchen staff, including training and delegation
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new dishes and specials
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional dishes
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
