About the Role

We're looking for a versatile electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. This role will support service work in manufacturing environments so must be available after normal working hours to answer repair/service calls as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures using testing devices
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment and repair
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus or components to locate the cause of the breakdown and repair the problem
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components
  • Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors
  • Assemble, install, test or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliance, apparatus, or fixtures

Qualifications

  • 309A journeyman electrician
  • 5 years of experience as an electrician
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities; service experience is an asset
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background
  • Ability to use various testing devices including ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, ammeters
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of Electrical Code
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and layouts
  • Flexible, dependable, and customer-focused
  • Valid driver's license

This is a full-time permanent position. Hours of work consist of 40 hours/week. Pay is based on experience and ability. The pay range is $38-46/hour.
