Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep & Line Cooks to join our culinary team.

You must have 2 years experience in a kitchen environment, and be located in Nelson BC to apply

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional kitchen environment, contributing to a vibrant dining experience for our guests.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily menu items, including chopping, peeling, and portioning
  • Support the cooking process by following recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the prep station and kitchen areas in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and within specified timeframes
  • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary terminology
  • Excellent teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration
  • Previous experience in serving or supporting front-of-house staff is advantageous but not essential
