Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on an immediate hire basis. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for food, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in culinary execution, food safety, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create innovative, seasonal, and on-brand menu items.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain consistency in food preparation and quality.
  • Lead, train, and schedule kitchen staff, ensuring a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and ensure food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
  • Utilize procurement systems (e.g., Marketman) to input and manage inventory data accurately.
  • Support HR-related matters in coordination with the Human Resources department.
  • Implement procedures to minimize waste and maximize kitchen efficiency.
  • Act as a guest-first ambassador, resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless kitchen-to-table execution.
  • Stay current with culinary trends and actively contribute to ongoing menu innovation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment through regular inspections and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Perform any other duties related to the role as assigned by the Head Chef or management.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership culinary role, preferably in upscale or high-volume dining.
  • Strong culinary skills with expertise in diverse cooking techniques and plating standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Experience using kitchen management systems (e.g., Marketman) is an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision and quality.
