Edmonton AB TV G, Canada Award Construction Ltd. Full time $40,000 - $60,000 per year

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments. This position ensures all payables are recorded and paid in accordance with company policies and accounting standards, while maintaining positive relationships with vendors and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and appropriate coding to general ledger accounts.
  • Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices
  • Enter and maintain vendor invoices in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers, cheques, and other forms of payment.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and records.
  • Assist with month-end closing by providing accrual information and reports.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and ensure strong communication and service.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and within terms.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and account details as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounts payable processes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum [1–3] years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payable procedures.
  • Proficiency with accounting software Sage, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

  • Office-based environment with standard working hours.

  • Occasional overtime may be required at month-end or during audits.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
