Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Information Technology to lead our organization's IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in system administration, network security, cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, and software development methodologies. This leadership role requires a forward-thinking professional capable of managing complex IT projects, ensuring information security, and driving technological innovation to support business objectives.
Duties
- Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy aligned with business goals, including infrastructure, application development, and security initiatives.
- Oversee the management of enterprise systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, Citrix, and SAN storage solutions.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure including Cisco routers, firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP configurations, DHCP, DNS, and WAN/LAN environments.
- Manage cloud-based services and platforms such as AWS and Azure for scalable application deployment and data storage solutions.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures including information security protocols, network security policies, PCI compliance, firewall management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Supervise software development projects utilizing languages like Java, C#, Python, SQL, .NET frameworks, HTML, SharePoint, Jira for project tracking, CI/CD pipelines for DevOps practices.
- Coordinate vendor management activities related to hardware/software procurement and service agreements.
- Lead IT support teams providing technical assistance across the organization while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Manage IT project portfolios using tools like Microsoft Project to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Implement virtualization solutions such as vSphere and Citrix to optimize resource utilization.
- Oversee system engineering efforts involving PowerShell scripting, SCCM for systems management, SolarWinds for network monitoring, and PowerShell automation scripts.
- Drive continuous improvement through analysis skills to evaluate emerging technologies like DevOps practices, APIs integration, containerization with Docker, Kubernetes (if applicable), and SDLC best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT leadership roles with a strong background in system administration and network infrastructure management.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS and Azure; experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Citrix is essential.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, C#, Python; familiarity with HTML is preferred.
- Deep understanding of databases including SQL Server, Oracle databases; experience with database management and optimization is required.
- Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles including information security policies, PCI compliance standards, network security measures like firewalls and VPNs.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise tools like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint), Microsoft Project/SharePoint/Jira for project management.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with containerization tools like Docker is a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills coupled with effective communication skills to manage cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues quickly and develop strategic solutions aligned with organizational goals.
