Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing skills, with experience in maintenance management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-quality guest experience through proactive maintenance, repairs, and supervision of maintenance staff. The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership qualities, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all hotel equipment and facilities to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Repair and maintain electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, lighting, and other mechanical systems within the hotel premises.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Operate and programme programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for building automation systems.
  • Perform welding and other fabrication tasks as required for repairs or modifications.
  • Supervise maintenance staff or contractors during repairs or installations, ensuring work is completed safely and to standard.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance purposes.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests or complaints related to maintenance issues with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff alike.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance within the hospitality industry or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques and mechanical repair skills.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and building automation systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Leadership experience in supervising or managing maintenance teams is preferred.
  • Good communication skills in English; able to liaise effectively with team members and guests.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
