Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform regular walks of the guest room floors and other areas to ensure all is clean, safe, and secure
  • Enforce the rules of the hotel to ensure the safety and security of hotel guests, visitors to the property, employees and hotel property
  • Perform additional maintenance, cleaning or service tasks assigned by Supervisors, Department Managers, or General Manager
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals

  • Take initiative to offer friendly assistance or answer questions from our guests

  • Thoroughly understand and implement brand service culture
  • Perform regular walks of the guestroom floors and other areas to ensure all are clean, safe, and secure
  • Stock and sort supplies
  • Vacuum, clean, dust and polish public spaces

  • Perform duties to close the pool and fitness centre

  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
  • Perform rotational cleaning duties as required
  • Perform additional maintenance, cleaning or service tasks assigned by Supervisors, Department Managers, or General Manager

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication

  • Basic reading, writing, math skills and the capacity to work on a computer

  • Completion of high school diploma or related vocational training preferred
  • A Certified Pool (CPO) license is an asset but not required
  • Ability to work Night Shifts
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push items weighting up to 100 pounds/45kilograms

  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical skills, preventative maintenance procedures, and reasonable understanding of building equipment hand tools
