The team at the Georgian Court Hotel takes pride in providing a high level of personalized service to our guests, as we strive for their satisfaction. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and results driven Maintenance (Shift Engineer) to join us.

The Maintenance colleague performs proactive general maintenance duties and scheduled preventative maintenance work on the entire hotel property, including the physical building, equipment and public spaces with particular attention towards ensuring the safety and security of our guests, team members, and assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with routine maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of building including hotel rooms and contents, public spaces.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical system issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Conducts guest room and common-area inspections to ensure guest satisfaction and performs property inspections to ensure asset is maintained in excellent condition
  • Manages parts, supplies, tools, furniture and equipment inventory when necessary
  • Acts as a safety coordinator for the entire hotel in the absence of the Maintenance Manager and assists in training other department employees in fire protection and safety procedures
  • Contributes to building a positive team environment and works effectively with other departments to accomplish goals
  • Demonstrates a high level of accountability and ensures corrective action is taken to continuously improve guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrates a high quality of work and ensures work is accurate and neat
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager and as assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in maintenance specific to basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC system, carpentry, drywall work and painting preferably in a hotel environment
  • Working knowledge of power and hand tools, and other technical trade-related equipment
  • Ability to interpret and perform basis computer functions including MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must be a team player, have high integrity with excellent team work skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong prioritization skills and initiative
  • Must be adaptable and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull heavy items greater than 20kg
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings and weekends

Job Type: Full-time
