Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Shopify Web Developer to join our development team at SOVI Creative. As part of our eCommerce projects, you'll be working on translating designs into functional, responsive Shopify stores and web applications. You'll collaborate with senior developers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cross-browser and device-compatible solutions. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in Shopify development, front-end technologies, and eCommerce best practices while working in a supportive, creative environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with senior developers to implement custom designs into responsive websites using HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript.

  • Assist in building, modifying, and maintaining Shopify stores and themes (custom or theme-based).

  • Learn and apply Shopify Liquid, Shopify 2.0, JSON, and Dawn framework to create custom features.

  • Support website data migration (customers, products, and orders) under the guidance of senior developers.

  • Collaborate with designers to tailor user experiences and provide front-end feedback.

  • Perform testing across different devices and browsers, fixing bugs and ensuring usability.

  • Implement mobile-friendly and responsive layouts.

  • Contribute to production, updates, and maintenance of web applications.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices in UI/UX and front-end development.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders in a fast-paced agency environment.

Experience, Technical Skills, and Key Competencies

  • 1–3 years of front-end development experience (professional or strong project-based).

  • Familiarity with Shopify development or strong interest in learning Shopify Liquid and Shopify 2.0.

  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Proficient in Git version control and experienced across all stages of the web development lifecycle, with practical expertise in Shopify CLI, GitHub workflows, and agile methodologies.

  • Experience working with Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design/prototyping tools.

  • Bonus: Experience with Shopify Hydrogen, GraphQL, Rest API, React, TypeScript, or Go Lang.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in problem-solving.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
