General Manager – Quebec Operations
Scope of Position
Our client is seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial General Manager to lead its Quebec-based fastener distribution and coatings/customization business, as well as an affiliated B2B distribution entity. This role carries full P&L ownership and oversees sales, operations, supply chain, procurement, and finance.

The ideal candidate
brings strong experience in fasteners or industrial distribution, thrives in post-acquisition environments, and excels at driving growth, improving operations, and developing high-performing teams. Bilingual fluency in French and English is required.

Responsibilities
Business & Strategy

  • Lead all day-to-day operations and set long-term strategic direction for the Quebec region.
  • Drive operational improvements, margin expansion, and customer value.
  • Identify integration and synergy opportunities across the broader organization.

Commercial Leadership

  • Grow revenue by strengthening customer relationships and expanding key accounts in construction and industrial markets.
  • Support the sales team with product expertise and ensure exceptional customer service.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Oversee warehouse, inventory, coatings/customization, and logistics to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and working capital.

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Lead purchasing strategy, vendor management, and continuous improvement to optimize cost and lead times.

Organizational Leadership

  • Build and develop a strong, accountable leadership team.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned with the broader enterprise.

Dual-Entity Oversight

  • Coordinate strategy and resources between the primary distribution business and a secondary B2B entity, leveraging shared capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in distribution, industrial products, manufacturing, or construction supply.
  • Proven success as a General Manager with full P&L responsibility.
  • Experience in PE-backed or post-acquisition environments is a strong asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Bilingual French & English required.
