Job Title: Youth Care Worker – Overnight Support

Reports to: Shift Supervisor / Staffing Managers

Location: SCP Shelter (In-person)

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $17.50 – $21.00 per hour

Hours: 35+ hours per week

Schedule: Wednesday to Friday and every 2nd Saturday, 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Probation: 3-month probation period with review

Supporting Contract: Ministry of Social Services

About the Role

Street Culture Project is hiring one Overnight Youth Care Worker for our SCP Shelter. This role involves providing direct support to youth in a safe and structured environment, ensuring their well-being, stability, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trust-based, professional, boundaried relationships with youth aged 16–21
  • Support daily living in transitional housing and life skill development
  • Implement case plans and safety strategies
  • Document youth interactions, appointments, and incidents
  • De-escalate crises and respond to emergencies

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma (post-secondary education is an asset)
  • Experience working directly with youth (preferred)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to remain calm, grounded, and decisive in high-stress situations
  • Comfort working around mental health, trauma, and substance use
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's licence
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance (within 6 months)

  • Crisis Intervention training
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office
