Job Title: Youth Care Worker – Part-Time
Reports to: Shift Supervisor / Staffing Managers
Location: SCP Shelter (In-person)
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $17.50 – $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Probation: 3-month probation period with review
Supporting Contract: Ministry of Social Services
About the Role
Street Culture Project is hiring one Part-Time Youth Care Worker for our SCP Shelter. This role involves providing direct support to youth in a safe and structured environment, ensuring their well-being, stability, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trust-based, professional, boundaried relationships with youth aged 16–21
- Support daily living in transitional housing and life skill development
- Implement case plans and safety strategies
- Document youth interactions, appointments, and incidents
- De-escalate crises and respond to emergencies
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma (post-secondary education is an asset)
- Experience working directly with youth (preferred)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to remain calm, grounded, and decisive in high-stress situations
- Comfort working around mental health, trauma, and substance use
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's licence
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance (within 6 months)
Assets:
- CPR/First Aid
- ASIST
- Crisis Intervention training
- Mental Health First Aid
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office
